A Study on the Identification of Industrial Competitiveness Spectra and Corporate Competitiveness as a Restructuring Issue

This study deals with issues concerning broad-based industrial restructuring and issues concerning restructuring at individual firms.  

 

First of all, this paper aims to identify the spectrum of industrial competitiveness across all industries within the manufacturing sector, from the industries with the weakest competitiveness to the industries with the strongest competitiveness. 

 

Secondly, this paper aims to identify the spectrum of corporate competitiveness across all enterprises within the manufacturing sector, from the corporations with the weakest competitiveness to the corporations with the strongest competitiveness.  

 

Thirdly, this paper aims to identify the combination or matrix of the spectrum of industrial competitiveness of all industries on one hand and the spectrum of corporate competitiveness of all enterprises on the other hand.  

 

Lastly, this paper tries to provide both a general direction and detailed polices for promoting preemptive industrial restructuring of Korean companies and industries.
