This book reviews the Japanese economy from an institutional perspective. It investigates the Japanese system from 4 viewpoints : firstly, the features of the system that differentiate it from the orthodox capitalist system, secondly, its function with regard to the performance of the post-war Japanese economy, thirdly, issues related to recent changes, and finally, the implications for the Korean economy. With emphasis on the third aspect in particular, this book investigates recent changes and its backgrounds in depth and tries to review Japanese economic system in the light of those changes.
