    ● Basic Information
    ○ Date and Time : April 20, 2011 (Wednesday) 14:00 - 16:00
    ○ Venue : Conference Room, KIET 3rd Floor
    ○ Organizer : KIET

    ● Objective(s)
Recently the international prices for raw materials including crude oil, copper, nickel, and iron have been rapidly increasing. In particular, due to the expanding political instabilities and uncertainties/risks in main crude oil supplier countries, the crude oil price hiked up to 100 USD per barrel.
The significant rise in international prices for raw materials may result in a higher production cost and thus decreased price competitiveness of Korea’s export products.
In order to respond to the abovementioned issues, KIET organized a policy discussion platform addressing effects of rising raw material prices on the main industries and appropriate policy responses.
